WOW ... I am really get bad at updates. Sorry about that I will try and be more persistent with this whole blog thing.

Matthew was 2 months old last Sunday ... that time went really fast. He has his check up w/ his doctor and is right on track. He now weighs 13.1 lbs and is 24 1/2 inches long. He got his shots and was really good, he cried only for a moment and then as soon as I picked up him he calmed down. I gave him Tylenol on that night and the next day he was fine.

I did return to work this week for 3 days and I survived as did Matthew. I can honestly tell you I am blessed so very blessed to be able to leave him in such good hands. It made going back to work ALOT easier. It is still hard because I wonder about him all day. Please not that I say wonder NOT worry. I really have no need to worry I just wonder what he is up to, if he misses me, if he is happy, and then I fly out of work to come and see him again. Talk about joy at the end of the day ...I am not sure who is more excited me or Matthew? I am sure once he is older and has the separation issue it will be a totally different story but for now I am enjoying that I can leave him with out crying. (either of us that is)

Steve is gone for 4 nights for gun season ... I am sure he will miss Matthew (his future hunting Buddie) and be anxious to get home Tuesday and see him. Becky I doubt you will have him all day if Steve is home he will want to come get him. :) Which is great ... Daddy son bonding time is a good thing.

Jazz is going crazy ...poor dog thinks when ever some one comes to see Matthew they are here to see her. It looks as though her feelings are hurt. Believe me Steve spends time with her and she just has to get used to it. Matthew isn't going anywhere. Sometimes I think when I come home and bring stuff in the house before Matthew that she thinks YES no little noise maker. Then I bring him in too and she gets that sad look in her eyes.

Well that is all for now. I hope that everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving. I know the KUBRICKY'S will as we have alot to be thankful for.

Until later;

6 weeks and counting ...

It has been a little while since I last wrote. Time just gets away from you when you have a baby! I could spend hours just looking in amazement at him.

Matthew was 6 weeks this past Tuesday! He is doing wonderful and we are trying to work on sleeping through the night. (Mommy is so looking forward to that) He does really good some nights with 4 1/2 hours at a crack and then some nights it is 3 hours. Which I can't complain about at all! He has started to find his voice and will make little noises when you talk to him or if he is laying by himself. Also he has began to recognize my voice and will smile when I talk to him. I love that... what pure joy it is when your child smiles at you for the first time. (or over and over again!) Steve has been great and loves his little boy ... he has gotten a nick name already ... Matthew Monster. Not sure where he got that from but his Daddy calls him that all the time and I think it will stick. Daddy and Matthew also like to rock at night before his last bottle. I call it "daddy"time , they both enjoy it.

Steve had his first night alone w/ Matthew. I had a girls night and attended a breast cancer survival party for a dear friend of mine. He did fine and I was gone for 3 1/2 hours. They were both sound asleep in the recliner when I got home.

I return back to work on 11/18 and really and dreading the day. I know he will be in WONDERFUL care in my absence but it will be hard to be away from him all day long, only to come home and have a few hours to enjoy him. Wendy and Becky (along with help from Ellie I am sure) will love him and enjoy just has we do.
Until later ... enjoy the nice warm fall days we are having. I am sure they are limited and the snow will fly again soon!
Love, Tana

Matthew Update ... 2 weeks

Thanks every one for the congrats!!

We are all adjusting very well! The dog, Jazz is handling it fine ... at times she looks depressed but at no minute is she every forgotten! She is very aware of Matthew and when he cries or fusses she is right there. Trying to figure out what the heck is going on!

I can't believe the first 2 weeks are behind us already ... where did that time go? I am enjoying every minute with him and dread the thought of going back to work and being away from him. At times I just sit and stare at him, just in amazment ... pure amazment. It can overwhelm you for sure and I know you are aware of that. The miracle of life is just awesome. That God created all of it to work out a certain way. WOW ... that sends shivers down your spine.

Matthew is doing really well ... had our 2 week check up and Dr says he is doing great...well she did say perfect! :) 8lbs. 8oz and 21 1/2 inches long. We are getting into a really good schedule and each day gets easier. I am feeling really good. The first week was rough because I was sore but I had wonderful help from Steve. Missed him so much when he went back to work. But I survived and just look forward to when he comes home.

Enjoy the pictures when I do get them sent!

Hello Everyone ---

WOW, I can't believe it has been almost 2 weeks already! It was a rough start but let me tell you VERY worth it!

God has blessed us with a beautiful baby BOY! I know some of you had heard we were having a GIRL. 2 weeks before my due date we had another Ultra Sound and found out it was a boy. The adjustment in my head was hard but as long as we had a healthy baby that was all that mattered.

We went in on 9/15 to be induced. I had protein in my urine and the doctor didn't like that, so to be on the safe side we were scheduled to start everything that evening. I started contractions on my own sometime in the middle of the night. Pitocin was started at 9:30am 9/16, by 2:25pm I was ready for my epidural...3:30pm my new nurse checked me and I was at a 3. I looked at Steve and said this is going to be a long afternoon and night. At 5:10pm she checked me again and I was a 10 and the baby was down and ready to be born. 2 1/2 hours of pushing and we finally had a baby!

MATTHEW STEVEN KUBRICKY was born 9/16/08 at 7:43pm - 8lbs, 1oz and 21 inches long. He is perfect and adorable in every way. I can say that because I am his mom! He does look exactly like is daddy did when he was a baby and I can also alot of him in him as he changes everyday.

We are getting on a better schedule everyday and adjusting to less sleep at night. We had to get used to that...as Steve and I are people who normally get 8-8 hours of sleep. That quickly changed but I am hoping to get him into a goos little schedule and have him sleeping through the night before I know it.

Waiting ...

Monday's Doctor Appointment was ok ... My cervix is open and I was having SLIGHT contractions Sunday afternoon and Monday AM. Nothing major but Doctor said we are headed in the right direction. I have my next doctor appointment on Monday the 15th. He didn't think he would see me again except at the hospital. However, it is Friday AM and I am thinking so far my "due" date will come and go and I will be at the doctor Monday morning. We will wait and see. Yes WAIT... I believe that is the hardest part of all of this. Just waiting...

I worked a couple of hours each day this week and decided that I am done. What a weird feeling ... when I left yesterday I felt as though I was leaving for a year. Don't get me wrong it was a good feeling but now I am home and trying to relax! Ha ... tough for me to do. No one to talk to and any one who really knows me knows I HATE the TV on turning the day. What to do what to do ... today I am doing something for me! I am going for a pedicure! Not for the sake of pretty feet in delivery but for a nice relaxing moment for my self. Which will be far and few between someday real soon.
That is all for now ... Until Baby or the next doctors appt.

LOVE TO YOU ALL!

Today we had a change...

However not the change we were expecting! Had our weekly check up with the doctor ... my lovely cervix is still closed but he did an Ultra Sound to make sure her head was down. Yep the head for sure is down. AND .... We are having a boy!!!

Yes you ARE reading this correct ...

Dr said to Steve and I "how sure were you that you were having a girl?" Steve said, "Oh I have know all along it is a girl". "Well, I think that this is a testicle in the picture"... Steve and I are waiting for a joke to come along. No joke he says he is 95% sure and gave us a picture.

So leaving the hospital, Steve is smiling and laughing. Mind you I was not....crying my eyes out. (big part because of my lovely hormones going crazy) My mind is on overload with all the pink clothes I have and the name hanging in the baby's room. Steve was wonderful...gave me a big hug and said, "Don't worry it will be fine". As long as the baby is healthy that is all that matters.

He is so right I think I am just a bit overwhelmed with this.

I was already going to be shopping this weekend for the last minute stuff that I need. So I will be buying more clothes as well. Neutral for now until the baby is born :) You never know.

Perhaps that is why I have had no changes. Baby didn't want to get ready to come out if we all new it was a different sex.

Judi (co worker) and her daughter went to lunch today and stopped at Kohls to pick up a whole bunch of boys clothes. AND of coarse that made me cry too! SO sweet of them! THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU.

So for now that is all the news I have.
We did have a boy's name picked out ... MATTHEW STEVEN

Until next week.
Enjoy your long weekend.

No news to share ...

Well Friday I had another weekly check up. Same as last week ...baby is very actve, she has not dropped at all and my cervix is..........Closed! Just want I am sure you all wanted to know! Next week if i have had no contractions and my cervix is closed Dr. said he would do a quick ultra sound to see how she is positioned.
So we are just waiting ... A good friend and ex co-worker me something that was really sweet. Enjoy the anticipation of her arrival and all the happens and doesn't. Before you know it you will be planning her 1st Birtday Party.
So I will try not to be too anxious to meet my baby girl.

Thanks talk to you in a week or so!!
Love to all

Hunting

As many of you already know my husband is a avid hunter. This is one hobbie that he truly loves to take the time and do. He has hunted most of Wisconsin and also been out west 4 times to Wyoming and Montana with his father. Time which they both cherish as they both enjoyed the time and have come home successful hunters. Steve's hoping that baby girl will have some interest in this hobby or atleast try it ... we will see!

This is 2008 Buck from MJK's Land. You will learn who MJK is soon.

Jazmyne

This is my husband's very own "daughter with fur"...his spoiled yellow lab. Well, ok we both spoil her. She is an awesome dog and we are excited to see her reactions to the arrival of Baby Girl. She does have Steve (and my self I must admit) wrapped around her little paw. But we love her because she is so lovable. I think at times she does think of herself as a human.

Doctor Update ...

I
I am now on weekly doctor's appointments. Today was the first one and so far nothing, which i pretty much figured. She has not dropped yet so i knew nothing would happen. I just had a nice reassuring doctor's appointment. Being that we didn't tell any one that we were trying or when we were pregnant, I had to find my own doctor. That is a little un-nerving...for fear that "AM I PICKING THE RIGHT ONE?" I have liked and felt comfortable with him since we met but this mornings appointment really confirmed that we have made the correct choice. He is really good and laid back...that is what we (steve) needs. He takes the time to find out how WE are and if we are ready as the count down is getting closer.

That is all until next week's appointment.

ALSO attached are pictures of the baby's room. Thought you would enjoy!

Baby Day is coming ...

Well...i might not be the writer that my sister is but thought you'd enjoy the updates. I am 28 days away from my due date. Also very ready I might add! Baby "G" is moving around all the time...very active! I am using/leaning on my sister for questions as the due date arrives. Steve and I just finished 3 or 4 labor and delivery classes last night and I think I am more nervous now that I am more aware. Steph will get plenty of questions before the big day...HA just wait until labor starts...she might as well just stay on the phone with me. I am very excited to meet her. With both of my sisters babies here and a friend just had hers last week...i am counting the days. Her room is finished and I will get those pictures posted as soon as I can.
